Hey Flag Football fans, there is a free fan bus heading to Willowbrook High School to watch our varsity flag football team take on Prospect High School in the State Quarterfinals on Friday after school! The bus will leave at 4:15pm from the back parking lot (Union Street).  You can purchase your ticket for the game online for $11.50 at Gofan.co or bring $15 cash for admission at the gate. The first (50) students to sign up in the Athletic Office will get a seat on the bus!

ATTN Juniors: On Tuesday, October 27, all juniors will take a practice ACT during hours 2-5 or 2-6. This is a great opportunity for students to become familiar with the test format, practice pacing, and see where you stand before the official ACT on April 13, 2027.

Students can find their testing room on their class schedule in Skyward. Be sure to notice if you are scheduled for standard or extended time.

Juniors will be dismissed after 5th or 6th hour depending on your approved accommodations. Students will not have lunch at school that day. Bus transportation home will be available.

Juniors need to bring a snack, water, calculator, and a fully charged Chromebook.

If you have any questions about the upcoming Practice ACT, stop by the SSS Office.

An up-to-date sports physical must be on file prior to October 26th. Transportation to Viking Lanes for practice is available from the Field House parking lot after school. Practices end around 5:00 with no return transportation.

Cheerleading open gyms will begin next week, on Tuesday, October 20th and Thursday, October 22nd, from 530-730 in the east end of the field house. Contact Coach Kelsey at kjohns2@hononegah.org for more information.

Here's another fun fact about the original 1946 film It's a Wonderful Life:

  • Did you know the actress who plays Mary Hatch-Bailey, Donna Reed, has a great arm? In the famous scene where George and Mary throw rocks through the windows of an abandoned house, director Frank Capra had an ace marksman lined up to shoot the window on cue, but Donna Reed, who had played baseball in high school, did it herself, on the first try, without any help.

Performances of this year's fall play It's a Wonderful Life are Nov. 6th & 7th @ 7pm and Nov. 8th @ 2pm. Order your tickets now at Hononegah Theatre's website or on Ticketor.com. Check your email for more information!
