The Admirable American we remember this week is a physicist, engineer, and astronaut. In 1993 Latina Dr. Ellen Ochoa flew the first of her four outer space missions for NASA. She researched robotics and innovated in optics earning a US patent. Since 2013, Latina-American Dr. Ochoa oversees US space missions as director of NASA’s Johnson Space Center.


Congratulations to the winner of the library's March guessing game, Bryanna Roggenbuck.  Bryanna, please come to the library to claim your prize!  Be sure to stop by and try the April guessing game!


Seeking Writers, Actors, Directors, and Technicians for Hononegah’s third annual 24-Hour Play Festival on April 10th and 11th!! Come together with fellow students to write, rehearse, produce, and perform a brand-new play based on a theme all in the span of just 24 hours. The 24 Hour Play Festival is a celebration of creativity and theater in a fun, low stakes capacity! A sign-up sheet is available in the performing arts hallway through April 7th. Teams will be announced April 9th - one day before the festival begins!


On Wednesday, April 8 Juniors will be taking the ACT w/ Writing. Sophomores and freshmen do not report to school unless they are taking the PreACT with accommodations. Seniors do not report to school unless you are going on the Senior Class Trip.


On Thursday, April 9 Sophomores and freshmen will be participating in the PreACT. Juniors do not report to school. Seniors do not report to school.


On your test day, please bring your charged Hononegah-issued Chromebook, school ID, manageable snack, water, pen or pencil, and an ACT-approved calculator. Juniors, don't forget to create your MyACT account. School counselors handed out your student code earlier in March and you will need that code to set it up.


All students MUST be in their assigned testing rooms no later than 8:45 am. Room assignments for all grades have been posted around the building. Students, if you do not have a room assignment, please report to the SSS Office as soon as possible. Please do not wait for the day of the test. 


DO NOT bring cell phones, electronic devices, backpacks, or other unnecessary items with on your test day. They are not allowed in the testing rooms.  Come prepared to do your best.


Hey Sophomores & Juniors — want to lead, inspire, and make a real impact? Apply to be a SOAR Mentor! Applications are open.  Please submit your applications by May 1.  Please check your email for a link to the application. 


Do you like to be outdoors? Do you like sports? Do you like volunteering? Please consider volunteering for the Special Olympic Spring Games held on May 2nd,2026 at Harlem High School.   Posters with the QR code can be found in the cafeteria and by the Principal's Office. Great for individuals or clubs looking for volunteer hours. 


Varsity Football Jersey orders are due today, April 2nd, to Coach Zimmerman. 


Your last ACT tip of the week is all about managing the stress of test day. You are well prepared to do the best you can do. Have confidence in your own abilities and tell yourself that you are going to do well. You will run into challenging questions, however, a positive attitude can go a long way.   


Club Announcements:

Gaia will meet on Tuesday, 4/7/26, at 8:15 in room 2006. We will make flowers for the library tree and discuss Earth Day. There will be treats! Hope to see you there.


Are you looking to find community and learn about the Bible? Come to Grace on Campus Tuesdays at 8:05 in room 2000. Everyone is welcome to join no matter where you’re at in your faith journey!


Hello Gamers! We will be meeting on Tuesday, 4-7-26, at 3:20 in the AP room. Please make sure to have a ride by 5 pm. As always, new members are welcome to join. 


Tabletop Club will meet on Monday, April 6th, after school in the Main AP. Bring your friends and join us for some fun games!
