The Admirable American for this week is an early New York Wall Street financial entrepreneur. In the 1830s, African American Jeremiah Hamilton amassed a huge fortune trading in stocks on New York stock exchanges and through his transportation and real estate companies. Hamilton died a millionaire in 1875 leaving behind two million dollars. In today’s money he was worth well over 40 million dollars.

Students and staff, are you ready for a funny and emotional musical take on a classic story? Come to the Spring production of Freaky Friday, based on the 1972 novel by Mary Rodgers and the hit Disney films. Performances will be on Friday, March 13 at 7:00 pm, Saturday, March 14th at 7:00 pm, and Sunday, March 15th at 2:00 pm. Adult tickets are $10.00 each and student tickets are $8.00 each. Tickets can be purchased on the Hononegah Ticketor Website or with cash during lunch on Wednesday, March 11th or Thursday, March 12th. Tickets can also be purchased via cash or check after school Tuesday (3/10) through Friday (3/13) or in-person at the door!

Don't forget to eat! If you're planning on making a life-giving donation tomorrow at the blood drive, you should plan to eat breakfast! Well-fed donors are the best blood donors, so please eat a hearty meal and drink plenty of fluids! Remember, all donors will need a photo ID with their date of birth, and sixteen year olds will need the parental consent form signed. We'll see you tomorrow in the Field House Lobby during your assigned time. Contact Mr. Lee with questions.

Class of 2026:  Join your class on the senior trip to the Chicago burbs on April 8.  Forms are due March 18 and are available in Parent Square and in the Principal's office. Get a Senior shirt that you can wear on the trip too!

Attention Class of 2026! Did you know there is currently $46,750 in local scholarship dollars just waiting to be claimed? Our amazing local donors and community organizations are ready to invest in your future—you just have to apply!

Whether your next chapter involves a four-year university, a two-year college, or a specialized trade school, there is likely a scholarship with your name on it. Head over to the SSS page on the Hononegah website.  Check out the full list of scholarships, specific criteria, and those all-important deadlines.  Don't leave money on the table!

Your ACT tip of the week is all about testing strategy. The name of the game for the ACT is choosing the correct answers. A great strategy to arrive at the correct answer is to use the strikethrough button to cross off incorrect answers. Crossing off incorrect answers  helps you focus on the remaining choices.
