Congratulations to Alicia Wallin for making it past the cut and to the 2nd round at the IHSA 2A Girls State Golf Tournament this weekend, finishing in the top 40 overall in the state!


Do you like to travel? Do you like to serve others? Do you have an interest in military history? If so, pick up an application to accompany our greatest generation of U.S. military veterans to Washington, D.C. in May, 2026 with Vetsroll.  Applicants must be 18 by May 1. Applications can be picked up in Mr. Haab's room (1119) and are due by October 31.


Are you looking for an adventure? Come with us to Mexico! In June of 2027, we will be going to the Yucatán for 8 days. We will see ruins, enjoy local cuisine, beach time, and much more. Come to the informational meeting with a parent on Tuesday, Oct 21st in Sra. Osorio's room 2426 at 6 pm.


Attention Sophomores!

Your class presentations will take place this Thursday during your English class. Please remember to bring your charged Chromebooks, as you’ll need them during the presentation. 


Attention Seniors: The FAFSA is now open! Students and parents should create their FSA IDs at studentaid.gov as soon as possible to get started on financial aid for college. Don’t wait—apply early!  Remember: completing the FAFSA is also a graduation requirement.


ATTN: All 10th and 11th grade students are invited to take a proficiency test on Wednesday, October 15 - Friday, October 17 or Wednesday, October 22 at 7:00 am (ideal for students with a 1st hour) or at 7:45 am on the track at Kelsey Field. These are the only dates and times the test will be offered. Students must pass the test to be exempt from PE for 2026-2027. Please sign up for the test by Tuesday, October 14, using a link found in your school email titled 2026-2027 Physical Education Proficiency Test sent on September 12, 2025.  Students are to meet in the Student Commons on the day of their test.


Attention all girls interested in indoor soccer. Reminder to turn in your $30 to Senora Eiss to sign up for the indoor season. If you need more information, stop by Senora Eiss or the athletic office, or email Coach Brynn Jacobi bjacob@hononegah.org

In 2021 NASA's Perseverance rover landed on what "red plant"? If you know the correct answer is Mars, please join Scholastic Bowl tomorrow after school for an informational meeting. Please see Mrs. Hardwick or Mr. Jeff Smith with questions.


Attention Creative Endeavors Members! We are meeting at 8:15 in art room 1439 on Thursday, October 16th to continue work on our little pumpkins and pass the journal! See you then!


Anime and Manga club will have its next meeting today after school in the library.  Come for a fun Halloween themed meeting with snacks and anime watching.  All are welcome!  See Mrs. Blum in the library with any questions.

Key Club will meet Thursday at 7:30 in the upper AP room for students with a 1st hour and 8:00 for those without one.  We will discuss our upcoming events as well as plan for trunk-or-treat.  This is your final reminder to please bring $20 in cash or a check to HCHS for your dues.
