The Admirable American for this week is a European-American, male, journalist and abolitionist. William Lloyd Garrison founded the abolitionist newspaper The Liberator in 1831and the American Anti-Slavery Society in 1833. Through his writing he advocated the end of slavery, and incorporation of African Americans as full citizens of the United States. After the Civil War, Garrison turned his mighty pen to persuading Americans that women deserved the right to vote.

Show your school spirit by dressing up next week! Homecoming Spirit Week kicks off with Camo and Animal Print Day on Monday. See the message sent by Mr. Lee in Parent Square for the full list of Spirit Days.


Voting for the 2025 Homecoming King and Queen ends Sunday at midnight. Seniors, check your email for the link. Reach out to Mr. Lee (mlee@hononegah.org) in 2300 with any questions.


Come dance to the beat of carnival on September 27 from 7-10 pm. at Hononegah's Homecoming Dance, Rhythms of Rio!  Online tickets are now on sale. Scan the QR code on the posters around the building or check your Class Google Classroom for more information.  All Guest forms are due in the DA office by September 19. Hononegah student tickets are $20, and guest tickets are $30. In-person ticket sales will be from September 22 through September 26th.


Club Announcements:

Grace on Campus invites everyone to join us next Wednesday, September 24th at 8 am for our annual see you at the pole event. This is a global event where community members meet around a flag pole and pray for our school, nation, and world. Everyone is welcome! There will be no meeting Tuesday, September 23rd.

Tabletop Club will meet Monday, September 22nd after school in the Main AP. We are always accepting new members. So bring your friends and join us for some games! 

Come join the Stateline Robotics Team! FRC Team 4655 is a fantastic opportunity for students to hone their skills, whether that be in engineering, science, business networking, public speaking, or working as a team member, Stateline Robotics has something for everyone. Join us as we design, manufacture, program, and drive the robot over the course of six weeks, before traveling the country to compete with teams from all over the world. No prior experience necessary, all are welcome. Our kick-off meeting will be Monday, September 22nd at 7pm in the Main AP room, and parents are encouraged to come!

NHS students, please check Google Classroom for volunteer opportunities. Also, if you ordered this year's shirt using the form in Google Classroom, you must pay Dr. Asbury by this Friday. Put your $20 in an envelope with your name on it and drop it off in the district office. If you need change, see her before school for change. 


In Cinematics, we are celebrating some of our favorites with our Friday Free Movies. This week, on September 19th in room 1434 at 3:30, we are watching Jim Henson's Dark Crystal. All are welcome any time. Free food provided.

It's finally here! We are excited to offer individual pan pizzas daily beginning on 09/17/2025! We have been planning and working hard to bring this new lunch item to you! 

What you need to know: 

Student pricing: make it lunch to get the best deal! Buying only a pizza a la carte will be $5.00, add some fruit and veggies and/or milk it is only $3.85!! 

The pizza line will only have pizza and sandwiches. The homestyle line will have the alternate hot lunch, salads, sandwiches and pizza. 



All the Pepsi vending machines in the building accept debit/credit only, except for the 1 Pepsi vending machine in the cafeteria and the 1 snack machine in the cafeteria, these are cash only machines. When using a debit/credit card, please note there is a "hold fee" when making purchases that should be refunded within 24 hours.  If this is not refunded or the machine charged you but did not dispense the product, you must call your bank or credit card company to dispute the charge. Pepsi cannot refund your card and the school district cannot refund your card. The card readers are operated by an outside company. Once you have finished your purchase do not walk away from the machine without pressing and holding the yellow complete button until you see the screen say make your selection again. This is a very important step so that your card is cleared from the machine. Please reference the picture. 



Be ready to smile on picture day, September 24th & 25th.   


Afterwards, you’ll be able to view your images via email, order packages and select your image for your yearbook (please remember to do so before it’s selected for you), all orders will be delivered to your home.
