Illinois State Seal of Biliteracy:

Hononegah Community High School’s World Languages Department is proud to award the Seal of Biliteracy and Commendation towards Biliteracy to 19 students in the class of 2024!

The Seal of Biliteracy is an award granted by the Illinois State Board of
Education and given by Hononegah Community High School in recognition
and celebration of students who demonstrate a high level of proficiency in
English and one or more other languages as measured by performances on
an AP Language exam or its equivalent. Hononegah Community High School
had 13 students earn the Seal this year, which may be placed on their
diplomas.

The Commendation towards Biliteracy award is an award also granted by the Illinois State Board of Education and given by Hononegah Community High School to students who demonstrated intermediate proficiency in English and another language. Hononegah Community High school had 6 students earn Commendation towards Biliteracy and their seals may be placed on their diplomas.

The Seal of Biliteracy builds upon the rich linguistic and cultural assets of the
district and community, providing students with the necessary skills to be
successful in college, career, and life. The World Languages Department is
honored to recognize the following qualified Hononegah seniors who
demonstrated proficiency in more than one language:
